Antoni Karwacki

When I started my hockey stamp collection in 2005, I was made aware of Antoni Karwacki's book "Hokey Na Trawie" published in 2003. I established that he was a former hockey player, a great administrator, and President of the Polish Field Hockey Association from 1978 to 1988 and was then Honorary President of the Association.

His 118 pages book covered photographs and images (all hockey related) of:

First Postage Stamp; First Souvenir Sheet; First Postal card; First Aerogramme; First Maximum card; Field hockey in Ancient times; Important Anniversaries; Olympic Games; World Cup; European Cup; Asian Games; International Competitions; National Competitions; Populaization of Hockey; Games resembling Field Hockey; Outstanding players and outstanding Personalities.

I made contact with Antoni who lived in Poland. Since then until he died in 2021, I kept in contact with him and exchanged information and stamps with him.
